ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has disposed of a contempt of court petition for not allowing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Chairman Imran Khan to meet his wife, Bushra Bibi.
Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Sarfraz Dogar heard a contempt of court petition of Imran Khan. In his plea, Imran Khan said that jail authorities are not allowing him to meet his spouse Bushra Bibi.
Superintendent Adiala Jail Ghafoor Anjum appeared before the court. Lawyer Faisal Farid Chaudhry appeared on behalf of the founder PTI, while State Counsel Malik Abdul Rehman was also present in the court.
The Islamabad High Court asked the Superintendent Adiala Jail whether the court had given an order and whether it was being implemented or not? To which the Superintendent Adiala Jail replied that the order of this court was being fully implemented. The petitioner’s lawyer has also been informed about this. Although there is no mention of this meeting in the jail rules, the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi meet every Tuesday.
The Acting Chief Justice told Imran Khan’s lawyer that we are giving you a favour, to which lawyer Faisal Farid Chaudhry said that the Superintendent of Adiala Jail should give an assurance that the court decision will be implemented, the problem does not come from him, it comes from someone else.
The Superintendent of Adiala Jail said that the problem does not come from anywhere, to which Acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar said that they are sitting here and they will see.
Later, the court disposed of the application to meet the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi.
On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court declared the application filed against the party leaders not meeting former Prime Minister Imran Khan as admissible.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas of the Islamabad High Court directed the Registrar’s Office to remove the objections and directed to assign a diary number to the application.

It may be recalled that the court had reserved the decision on the admissibility of the application after hearing the arguments yesterday.
Lawyer Faisal Chaudhry appeared in court on behalf of the PTI founder, requesting that the Registrar’s Office’s objections be overturned.
