ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered Adiala jail authorities to produce Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding Chairman Imran Khan before the court via video link at 2pm.
The directive came during the hearing of Mashal Yousafzai’s petition against the denial of permission to meet Imran Khan at Adiala Jail despite court orders.
The court directed the Islamabad advocate general to inform it whether Khan will be presented via video link or, if not, to ensure his physical appearance before the court by 3pm.
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan summoned the first superintendent of Adiala Jail on the petition against stopping Mashal Yousafzai from meeting Imran Khan, and directed him to ask the founder of PTI and tell whether Mashal Yousafzai is the lawyer of the founder of PTI.
The court said that this is contempt of court order, which was done with the consent of the parties in the previous hearing. in the previous hearing, the court had ordered the petitioner to meet the founder of PTI. On this, the jail authorities were expected to comply with the court order, but the jail authorities committed contempt of court.
The Islamabad High Court has said that a list was presented before the court, which was given by the founder of PTI. If the court is not satisfied with it, then the founder PTI will be asked by itself. Apart from this, the court also expressed its anger at the SP Jail during the hearing.
During the hearing, the court ordered that the founder of PTI should be presented through video link at 2 pm, or if not, then present him in person at 3 pm.
