ISLAMABAD: Former National Security Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Nasir Khan Janjua has said that India agreed to a ceasefire with Pakistan after losing the perseverance and courage to sustain the conflict.
Speaking on private TV channel, Janjua emphasised the importance of identifying those behind subversive activities in Balochistan. He urged engagement with individuals being influenced by India, stressing the need for outreach and dialogue.
“For peace in Balochistan, it is crucial to involve both Iran and Afghanistan in the process,” he said. “Hatred must be overcome, and efforts should focus on winning hearts and fostering peace.”
Janjua also expressed deep affection for the province, saying, “If you lift the Baloch youth up, they will raise you on their shoulders. I hold Balochistan dearest to me, it is not the province we were entrusted with.”
He further noted that former U.S. President Donald Trump had offered to mediate the Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India.
