India behind Jaffar Express train attack: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has accused India of being behind the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan province.

In his weekly press briefing here in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan alleged that the attack was orchestrated from abroad, with evidence linking the attackers to Afghanistan.

“Pakistan has long been a victim of terrorism, noting that such elements often come from outside its borders,” he said.

Investigations into the Jaffar Express attack revealed that terrorists were in contact with masters in Afghanistan.

He urged the Afghan government to take action against those responsible and enhance cooperation.

The spokesman said that Pakistan “consistently” shared information regarding terrorist incidents with relevant nations.

Many countries, such as the US, Iran and China, condemned the attack.

He pointed out that “forces behind terrorism” in Pakistan aim to undermine development and Chinese investment, particularly concerning the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.

The premier reaffirmed that Pakistan would not allow its development plans to be hindered.

Earlier, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that all hostages taken by terrorists have been rescued safely. In the operation, all terrorists involved in the Jaffar Express attack had been eliminated.
