ISLAMABAD: India has now also blocked the social media account of Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar after blocking the social media accounts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and DG ISPR,
Tarar had highlighted India’s state repression, human rights violations, and efforts to silence the Kashmiri people in international media. In response, India took action against his official account as well.
Meanwhile, India has blocked the social media accounts of several prominent Pakistani celebrities, including actors and musicians, following the Pahalgam attack — a move seen by many as reactionary censorship in the absence of credible evidence.
Globally recognised stars like Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, and Fawad Khan, as well as television favourites including Hania Aamir, Iqra Aziz, and Ayeza Khan, are now inaccessible to Indian users.
