India violates ceasefire as firing reported at LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: Indian forces violated the recently agreed ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked shelling and firing on civilian populations along the Line of Control (LoC), according to security sources.

Private media reports cited sources confirming that Indian forces abruptly initiated shelling at multiple points along the LoC, with intermittent firing continuing throughout the day.

Heavy weaponry was reportedly used in Indian firing targeting areas including Muzaffarabad, Bhimber, Barnala, and Chhajorian, raising serious concerns over the safety of local residents.

In response, Pakistani troops are said to be delivering a strong and effective retaliation to the Indian aggression.

The incident marks a significant escalation and breach of the ceasefire agreement announced just days earlier between India and Pakistan following U.S.-mediated talks aimed at de-escalating tensions.
