ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) on Friday said India has not provided Pakistan with complete details regarding the ongoing floods at the diplomatic level.
FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that India had conveyed flood-related information once through diplomatic channels, but this was not in line with the established procedure. He added that while some details were shared, the Foreign Office was not given the full picture.
The spokesperson further accused India of involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan, stressing that Islamabad has already shared credible evidence with the international community and friendly countries of India’s role in destabilizing Pakistan.
Afghanistan and regional matters
The FO urged Afghanistan to ensure its territory is not used against Pakistan. It also called on Germany to expedite the relocation of Afghan citizens awaiting evacuation.
On Israel
Shafqat Ali Khan strongly condemned Israeli strikes in Khan Younis, accusing Tel Aviv of targeting hospitals and journalists in violation of human rights.
PM’s China visit
The FO described Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China as highly successful. On the invitation of President Xi Jinping, the PM attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and met with several key leaders. The spokesperson said the Prime Minister highlighted the Afghanistan issue at the SCO and stressed the importance of bilateral dialogue with Kabul.
