India’s proxy war exposed, no compromise on Balochistan peace: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has stated that the Pakistan Army is fully equipped to confront any threats or conspiracies from enemies, whether internal or external. Speaking at the Grand Tribal Jirga held in Quetta, he emphasised that there will be no compromise on peace in Balochistan, as the future of Pakistan is closely tied to the stability and development of the region.

Field Marshal Munir pointed out that India’s proxy war is no longer a hidden issue, and the evidence of Indian interference is undeniable. He warned that any adversary challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty will receive a strong response. He attributed acts of sabotage in Balochistan to India, stating that these actions are aimed at disrupting peace and development. He noted that this proxy war has escalated from secret operations to open aggression, which will be effectively addressed.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted India’s interference during the jirga, mentioning that the enemy is attempting to incite unrest in Balochistan through terrorist groups. He remarked that groups like Fitna-ul-Hind Dostan are making unsuccessful efforts to gain public support. However, with the combined strength of state institutions and the people, terrorism will be dealt with decisively.

Prime Minister Sharif commended the role of tribal elders in Balochistan and assured that the government, army, and citizens would collaborate to achieve lasting peace in the region.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Command & Staff College Quetta today and addressed Student Officers and faculty of the Command and Staff College.

Paying tribute to the Shuhada of Operation ‘Bunyanum Marsoos’ and expressing complete solidarity with their family members, the COAS stated that under the national leadership, the people of Pakistan became a wall of steel for the Defence of the motherland. Praising the professionalism of the Armed Forces, the COAS reiterated that the success of ‘Ma’arka-e-Haq’ is a testimony to our national resolve and complete synergy among all elements of national power.

Commenting on the global and regional environment, the COAS shed light on the character of emerging conflict, with particular emphasis on India’s increasingly dangerous propensity to use unprovoked military aggression against Pakistan. While reiterating the resolve to defeat any aggression and ability to deal with threats across the entire conflict spectrum, the COAS asserted that Pakistan will never be coerced and inimical designs to distract Pakistan’s efforts against war on terrorism will be comprehensively defeated. For strategic stability of South Asia, the COAS emphasised the need for a peaceful resolution of the longstanding internationally recognised Kashmir dispute, and warned against the unlawful and legally untenable ‘hydro terrorism’ by India.

Highlighting Indian state’s role in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan, the COAS commented on the reinvigorated counter terrorism drive and expressed confidence that the Nation’s fight against terrorism will be driven to a logical conclusion – success against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.

Talking about leadership, the Field Marshal advised the student officers to fulfil their obligations with utmost dedication, passion and resolve. Emphasising the need for innovative thinking and research, he lauded the Command & Staff College Quetta for grooming future military leaders who uphold the highest standards of this sacred profession. “Training must reflect not only the current realities but also prepare us for the future battlefield, one that demands agility, innovation, and unwavering resolve,” he remarked.

Earlier on arrival at Quetta, the Field Marshal was received by Commander Quetta Corps and Commandant Command and Staff College Quetta.
