The vice chancellor of Khyber Medical University (KMU), Professor Dr Zia-ul-Haq, has said that India’s unilateral suspension of the ‘Indus Water Treaty’ is a water aggression against Pakistan.
The KMU vice chancellor made this statement while addressing an awareness campaign against Indian water aggression and the growing trend of drugs in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF. A walk was also held on the occasion, in which students and faculty participated.
The special guests of the event were Vice Chancellor KMU Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Haq and DG ANF Brigadier Mazhar Hussain, who addressed the students.
Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Haq said in his address that India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is a water aggression against Pakistan, against which the entire nation is united. He said that protecting the young generation from drugs was a national, social and moral duty of every citizen, and KMU stands by ANF in this mission.
DG ANF Brigadier Mazhar Hussain said that Pakistan had been facing enemies from two sides, one of which was an open enemy on the eastern border, while the other was targeting the youth through drugs. He expressed concern over the spread of Synthetic Drugs and urged parents to monitor the activities of their children.
At the end of the event, an awareness walk was also organised in which students, teachers, and administration actively participated. The participants held banners and placards against drug eradication and water aggression.
