IPL to resume on May 17 after India-Pakistan ceasefire

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to restart the Indian Premier League (IPL) following the easing of tensions between India and Pakistan. The tournament was paused last week due to heightened military tensions after the May 9 clashes.

Matches were abruptly halted earlier, including one in Dharamsala where stadium lights were turned off and foreign players made plans to leave. Now, the remaining games will be played across six Indian cities from May 17 to June 3. The first match will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore vs. Kolkata Knight Riders.

The decision comes after both countries agreed to a ceasefire, allowing normal activities, including cricket, to resume.
