Iran probes Indian tech firms for backdoor links to Israel

TEHRAN: Iranian authorities have launched an investigation into Indian software and technology companies operating in the country over allegations that they may have provided backdoor access to Israel during the recent Iran-Israel conflict, Iranian media reported yesterday.

According to local outlets, several key Iranian institutions, including airports and passport offices, have been using applications and digital infrastructure developed by Indian firms. Intelligence sources now suspect that some of these systems may have been compromised, allowing Israeli agencies to extract sensitive information.

The probe follows a series of precision strikes that led to the targeted killing of several Iranian nuclear scientists. Investigators believe that critical digital data, allegedly obtained through backdoor access, may have played a role in these assassinations.
