Ishaq Dar arrives in Saudi Arabia to attend OIC meeting. What decisions are expected?

Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the 21st Extraordinary Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the OIC Ambassador Fawad Sher, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq and Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah Khalid Majeed.

This extraordinary meeting is being held today at the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah, in which foreign ministers and senior officials of member countries will participate.

The aim of the meeting is to formulate a joint response of the Muslim world to serious issues such as the ongoing Israeli military aggression in Palestine, the possible plan for complete military control over Gaza and the violations of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

According to sources, the meeting will express serious concerns over the humanitarian crisis in the region and is also expected to consider a possible global diplomatic strategy.

Representing Pakistan, Ishaq Dar will present Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the country’s position on a just solution to the Palestinian issue.
