ISLAMABAD: Early Thursday morning, more than a dozen flights passing through Pakistan faced disruptions due to heavy rain and storms in Punjab.
One foreign airline, Emirates flight EK 715 from Islamabad to Dubai, accidentally entered Indian airspace before returning to Pakistan. The flight took off at 4 AM amid bad weather and strayed into Indian territory near Narowal at 4:25 AM. After circling near Amritsar, it re-entered Pakistani airspace near Kasur at 4:36 AM and continued to Dubai.
Several other international flights were also affected. A Thai Air flight from Bangkok to London was diverted for 15 minutes over Pakistan. Flights from Taipei to Paris, Baku to Islamabad, London to Islamabad, Manila to Istanbul, Delhi to Istanbul, and Muscat to Lahore also experienced difficulties due to the stormy weather.
