Israeli attack on Qatar, Pakistan requests to convene Security Council meeting

After the Israeli attack on Qatar, Pakistan requested to convene a Security Council meeting with a similar request from Algeria and Somalia.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, while commenting on the request for the meeting, said that Pakistan has requested to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Hamas leader remains safe in Israeli attack in Doha, six people including Khalil al-Haya’s son, were martyred.

Ishaq Dar said that the request for the meeting was made in view of Israel’s unprovoked, illegal aggression on Qatar; the request for an emergency meeting of the Security Council was made together with Algeria and Somalia.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the purpose of the meeting is to deliberate on the situation, and informing the Security Council about a serious issue is also among the objectives of the meeting. Pakistan expresses its full solidarity and strong support to the government and people of Qatar.
