In view of the recent unrest and deteriorating law and order situation in Bajaur, an important peace jirga was organised by Jamaat-e-Islami at Jamia Ihya-ul-Uloom Khar.
The jirga was well attended by leaders of various political parties, local elders, scholars, and social leaders. The participants expressed serious concern over the current situation and stressed the need for establishing lasting peace in the area.
A joint declaration was issued at the end of the jirga in which all the participants unanimously expressed their determination to jointly struggle for peace.
The declaration was presented to the media by the head of the jirga, Haji Gul Karim Khan.
He said that if this could not be implemented by July 26, we would prepare a new plan of action.
He questioned the security agencies that the people had caught a terrorist in Bajaur Salarzo and handed him over to the security agencies, and he should be asked who was behind it.
All the murders and terrorist incidents that took place in Bajaur took place in front of CCTV cameras, so where are the recordings? The recordings should be made public.
