JAMRUD: Frustrated by official delays, residents of Jamrud took matters into their own hands and forcibly opened the completed Jamal Khel Bridge on the 7-km Shah Kis to Sur Kumar bypass on Tuesday.

Led by local chairman Shahid Zaman, community members removed barriers from the long-ready bridge that had remained inexplicably closed to traffic. The spontaneous action restored vital road connectivity, bringing cheers from locals who had waited months for authorities to act.

“This bridge was built for public use but kept locked without explanation,” said one resident as others celebrated the people-powered solution. Chairman Zaman earned widespread praise for supporting the community initiative.
