JIT decides to issue arrest warrants for 20 PTI leaders in anti-state propaganda case

 

ISLAMABAD: A breakthrough has been achieved in the probe into anti-state propaganda on social media, with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) deciding to issue arrest warrants for 20 PTI party leaders.

According to a private TV, the JIT is investigating the negative propaganda on social media, despite issuance of multiple notices, the PTI leaders did not appear in the JIT, and it has been decided to issue warrants for not cooperating in the investigation.

These leaders include Waqas Akram, Hammad Azhar, Zulfi Bukhari, Aun Abbas, Mian Aslam, Firdous Shamim, Taimur Saleem, Jibran Ilyas, Khalid Khurshid, Shahbaz Gul, Azhar Mashwani and others.

According to media reports, the JIT sent several notices to the PTI leaders to appear, the notices were served at the residences of all the leaders, Barrister Gohar, Shibli Faraz, Aleema Khan and other leaders have appeared in the JIT, but others did not appear.

The investigation is being conducted against PTI leaders for anti-state propaganda. A JIT has been formed under the leadership of the Inspector General Islamabad for investigation, which was formed under Section 30 of the Pakistan Electronic Crime Act 2016.
