ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F JUI-F has barred its workers from meeting party leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman during Eid-ul-Fitr, citing security threats.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the party said the decision was made due to the “ongoing security situation across the country.” Workers were instructed not to travel to Dera Ismail Khan for Eid celebrations.
“The safety and security of the party leadership and workers is the top priority,” the statement read. “No leniency will be shown in this regard.”

The party acknowledged that Fazlur Rehman typically welcomes workers during Eid but said the move was necessary given current risks. Workers were instead directed to celebrate locally and organize collective prayers in their areas.
Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, JUI-F’s central secretary for information, urged members to comply with the decision and avoid unnecessary travel. The restrictions follow advisories from security agencies aiming to prevent potential attacks.
