LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that India’s attempt to blame Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident holds no credibility.
Speaking at the National Palestine Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan Ground, Lahore, Fazlur Rehman termed the allegation a conspiracy by the Modi government, asserting that it would be exposed as baseless and false at the international level.
He accused India of leveling unfounded accusations against Pakistan to divert attention from its internal crises. “Blaming Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident is a grave mistake by India,” he said, adding that this move reflects India’s continued hostility towards Islam and Muslims.
Fazlur Rehman said the timing of India’s accusations coincided with increasing oppression against Kashmiris, noting that India’s anti-Muslim stance is now unmistakably clear.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to raising the Kashmir issue on the global stage, stressing that Kashmir’s right to self-determination remains an international matter that must be resolved through the United Nations.
The JUI-F leader also called for urgent government action to support religious seminaries, highlighting their central role in providing religious education. “We will defend the existence of our seminaries at any cost,” he said.
Turning to the situation in Palestine, Fazlur Rehman condemned Israel, labeling it a war criminal responsible for atrocities against Palestinians. He welcomed the International Criminal Court’s decision against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and called for his immediate arrest.
Expressing full solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces, Fazlur Rehman declared that while Pakistan seeks peace, the nation will stand united with its military if war is imposed.
Issuing a stern warning to India, he said, “Modi must come to his senses, or be ready to face severe consequences.”
