JUI-F stands firm on ideology, won’t blindly follow allies

Maulana Fazlur Rehman Praised as 'Serious, Intelligent Leader' by JUI-F"

PESHAWAR – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Saeed-ur-Rehman Sarwar has praised party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a “serious, intelligent, and responsible politician” who has always upheld principled politics.

Speaking on the Pakhtun Digital Podcast, Sarwar highlighted Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s key role in the 26th Constitutional Amendment, calling it “effective and noteworthy.” He reiterated that JUI-F believes in dialogue and is open to negotiations with all political parties.

However, he clarified that an alliance does not mean blindly supporting every decision of a partner. “JUI-F is an ideological party; we make decisions based on principles,” he said.

On potential alliances among religious parties, Sarwar said such unity could ensure success. “Our priority is to bring religious parties together,” he added.

Regarding recent talks with PTI, he expressed doubts, saying, “No one knows how many factions exist in PTI or whether their negotiators have real authority.” He stressed that meaningful talks require authorized representatives.

Sarwar concluded by saying JUI-F will continue making decisions through consultations and principles in the future.
