Kalash festival Joshi concludes with vibrant celebrations

CHITRAL: The centuries-old religious festival of Joshi, celebrated by the Kalash tribe, concluded with traditional fervor across the three valleys of Lower Chitral—Ramboor, Bamborit, and Barir. The festival, held from May 13 to May 17, marks the arrival of spring and is a significant cultural event for the Kalash community.

The celebrations began in Ramboor valley on May 13-14, moved to Bamborit on May 15-16, and culminated in Barir valley on May 17. Thousands of domestic and foreign tourists flocked to witness the unique rituals, dances, and customs of the Kalash people.

To ensure safety and smooth festivities, Lower Chitral Police implemented strict security measures under the directives of District Police Officer Iftikhar Shah.
