Karachi jolted by 7 reported quakes in 24 hours, igniting panic

Earthquake tremors strike Swat, surrounding areas Residents of Swat and Mingora felt earthquake tremors on March 5. Many people rushed out of homes and buildings in fear. No casualties or property damage have been reported. The seismic center recorded a 4.2 magnitude quake. It had a depth of 64 kilometers. The epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountains. This region is known for frequent seismic activity. The tremors were brief but strong enough to cause panic. Just a week ago, strong tremors hit Islamabad, Peshawar, and other parts of KP. People fled buildings and recited prayers during that quake too.

KARACHI:Karachi felt the tremors of seven small earthquakes within a 24-hour period starting June 1st, causing noticeable anxiety among residents despite their low intensity.

The first quake struck on Saturday, June 1st, at 5:30 PM. This was followed by six more tremors on Sunday, June 2nd. The subsequent quakes occurred at 1:09 AM, 1:15 AM, 5:32 AM, 10:29 AM, 11:04 AM, and 1:28 PM.

According to meteorological analyst Owais Haider of the Pak Weather Network, the intensity of all these earthquakes was relatively low, measuring between 3.2 and 3.6 on the Richter scale. While only mild tremors were reported in various parts of the city, the repeated nature of the events sparked significant fear and panic.

The overnight quakes, in particular, prompted many people to leave their homes as a precaution. The series of tremors also fueled widespread rumors and expressions of concern across social media platforms throughout the city.
