Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt releases additional funds for TMAs

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released additional grants for salaries and pensions for the Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of settled and merged districts of the province.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department issued an order on Wednesday in this regard. According to the notification, Rs 1.2 billion has been issued as additional grants for 64 TMAs of settled districts, while Rs 163 million has been issued for 23 TMAs of merged districts. It said the additional grants were issued for the clearance of salaries and pension arrears of employees.

It said that Rs35 million had been issued for TMA Abbottabad, Rs 18 million for TMA Hawlian, Rs 11 million for TMA Battagram, Rs 60 million for TMA Bannu, Rs 150 million for TMA Peshawar City, Rs 50 million for TMA Haripur, in addition to all the remaining TMAs of settled districts.

According to another order issued by the Finance Department, Rs 163 million has been released for the tribal districts, including Rs 4 million for TMA Nawagai, Rs 10 million for TMA Wazir, Rs 5 million for TMA Dar Zinda, Rs 10 million for TMA Jamrud, Rs 2 million for TMA Landikotal, Rs 25 million for TMA Upper Kurram, Rs 6 million for TMA Lower Kurram, and Rs 7 million for TMA Central.

It said that funds have also been released in the form of additional grants for salaries and pensions for all TMAs of the remaining merged districts. The Finance Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has informed all TMAs about the release of funds. It is worth mentioning that the TMA employees had protested outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly in Peshawar against the delay in their salaries and pensions.
