Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police targeted in 68 attacks this year

PESHAWAR :  The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force has faced a surge in terrorist attacks this year, with 68 incidents reported since January, according to an official document from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central Police Office.

The attacks have resulted in the deaths of 26 officers and left 30 others injured.

In response, police have launched retaliatory operations across various districts of the province, killing 69 terrorists.

The document also noted that 10 police vehicles were damaged during the attacks.

The violence has been concentrated in the first three months of the year, with 29 attacks recorded in January, 24 in February, and 15 so far in March.

The police force has intensified counter-terrorism efforts, but the ongoing assaults highlight the persistent security challenges in the region.
