KOHAT: Residents of Kohat district are suffering from severe gas shortages and water scarcity due to old, damaged pipelines. Locals told Pakhtun Digital that despite Kohat producing natural gas—which is supplied to other parts of the province and country—their own homes go without gas for days.
Many residents complained that they still receive gas bills even when they get no supply. When they protest, gas officials give weak excuses, blaming old infrastructure. “If there’s really a problem, why doesn’t the government fix it?” asked an angry resident.
People are demanding that the government urgently repair gas lines and solve water shortages. They say Kohat’s resources should benefit its own people first.
