MARDAN – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, while speaking to the media in Mardan, clarified that he meets the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) because the founder wishes to meet him.
“If he didn’t want to meet, he could simply say so,” he added while commenting on PTI leader Junaid Akbar statement. Barrister Saif said, Akbar appears to be under pressure and is not fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to him by the party founder. “If he is unable to perform due to any issue, he should refrain from public complaints and stay at home,” he advised, emphasising that those who work do not resort to blame.
Responding to political developments, Barrister Saif dismissed the possibility of Amir Maqam’s brother becoming chief minister, calling it a “delusion.” He reiterated that the KP government faces no threats and enjoys the support of all its members, asserting it will complete its constitutional term.
Regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on reserved seats, he termed it “illegal and unconstitutional.” He added that the provincial government will comply with whatever is decided according to the Constitution. He also noted that JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman should welcome the Supreme Court’s decision, as it stems from the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
Speaking on the Swat tragedy, Barrister Saif confirmed that an inquiry is ongoing and those found responsible will be held accountable. He also stated that operations are underway against illegal constructions and unauthorized mining activities.
