PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast further rainfall across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, warning of potentially heavy showers in various regions, including Peshawar. Cloudy skies are expected to persist throughout the day, with dense cloud cover already observed in the provincial capital.

Weather experts attribute the current system to incoming western winds, which are likely to cause intermittent rainfall across the province through June 29. The rain is expected to vary in intensity—from light drizzles to heavy downpours.

Due to the forecast of intense rain, authorities have warned of possible flash floods in streams and rivers, along with the risk of landslides in mountainous areas. In response, local administrations have issued alerts for low-lying regions, urging residents to take precautionary measures.

Officials are advising the public to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from riverbanks and hilly terrain, and report any emergencies to local rescue services without delay.

Both the meteorological department and emergency services are on high alert to respond to any situation. Residents are also encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather reports and follow official guidance closely.
