PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister CM Ali Amin Gandapur has directed PTI members of the provincial assembly to abstain from voting on cut motions during Friday’s budget session, alleging a conspiracy by state institutions and the federal government.
In a video message, Gandapur claimed the KP government has faced conspiracies since its formation. He criticized the Governor for not calling the budget session, calling it unconstitutional. “This conspiracy began when our constitutional right to present the budget was denied,” Gandapur stated.
The Chief Minister revealed that PTI founder Imran Khan had demanded a meeting before budget approval, but his requests were ignored despite multiple appeals through various channels. Gandapur warned that failure to pass the budget could lead to federal intervention through financial emergency provisions.
“Tomorrow, our members will not participate in voting on cut motions,” Gandapur declared. He issued a stern warning to institutions and the federal government, stating: “The people of KP and our leader Imran Khan have entrusted me with protecting this province. Any attempt to disqualify us legally will be met with resistance.”
The announcement escalates tensions between the PTI-led provincial government and federal authorities, with Gandapur positioning himself as the defender of KP’s constitutional rights.
