KP budget for fiscal year 2025-26 to be presented after Eid-ul-Adha

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor to CM on Finance Muzamil Aslam said that budget for the next fiscal year 2025-26 is likely to be presented after Eid-ul-Adha, the total volume of the provincial budget could be up to Rs 1,900 billion.

 

Finance Advisor Muzamil Aslam says that it has been proposed to allocate Rs 165 to 175 billion for the development program in the upcoming budget. However, the annual development budget for the merged districts will be finalised after the federal government identifies the areas of development. Muzamil Aslam clarified that no new mega projects are being included in the upcoming fiscal year, rather priority will be given to the early completion of ongoing projects so that continuity in development can be maintained. He further said that a proposal to impose a 02% tax on exports is also under consideration in the budget, on which consultations are underway with various stakeholders. The aim of this proposal is to increase transparency in exports and financial resources.

 

Meanwhile, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also prepared its recommendations for the budget, which will be presented to the provincial government soon. The business community has demanded that the government pay special attention to promoting exports and providing more facilities to local industries.
