PESHAWAR: The provincial cabinet of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government approved funding for Ramazan and Eid packages aimed at supporting 1 million deserving families in the province.
The 25th meeting of the provincial cabinet took place in Peshawar, chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. During the meeting, various development projects and public welfare initiatives were also approved.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approved funds for Ramazan and Eid packages for 1 million needy families in the province in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that the poor, orphans and transgender people would be transparently benefited from the package, and poor families affected by terrorism will also be included in this package.
The Chief Minister further said that special care will be taken of the poor and disabled people, and all transgender people will also be included in this package. He directed that the distribution of the package be completed before 15 Ramadan so that the public gets timely facilities.
The meeting also approved an annual grant of Rs4.920 million for 15 orphan students of the province in Abbottabad Public School. In addition, it was directed that the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium be renamed as Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
Furthermore, an amount of Rs1028.673 was approved for the 3,687 teachers of the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation, which will enable timely payment of teachers’ salaries.
The cabinet also approved amendments to the Motor Vehicle Rules 1969 for better inspection of bus stands. In addition, a grant was approved for the Auqaf Department and an internship scheme of Rs31,000 per month for BS Nursing graduates.
Amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Rules of Business 1985 for the science, technology and IT sector were also approved in the cabinet meeting to further accelerate the pace of development in these sectors.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur clarified in the meeting that full attention is being paid to the development of the province and public welfare projects so that better facilities can be provided to the people.
