KP Chief Secretary Urges DCs to boost performance, public engagement

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired the second video-link meeting of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) on Wednesday, focusing on responsive governance, performance-based service delivery, and stronger citizen engagement.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary highlighted the crucial role of DCs as the “face of the state and government.” He urged them to excel in their duties, stating that their performance would shape public perception and career growth. “Your performance should speak for you,” he said, encouraging them to leave a legacy of outstanding public service.

Shah emphasized the importance of community engagement, directing DCs to prioritize public interactions through JirgasKhuli Kacheris (open courts), and field visits. These efforts, he said, would build trust, address misconceptions, and resolve local issues promptly.
