Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has vowed to block federal tax on FATA, PATA regions.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, while addressing the provincial assembly, offered to consider budget proposals from the opposition, stating that their input would be welcomed as the assembly was elected by the people’s vote.
During his speech, the Chief Minister remarked, “May Allah drown those who have elected members through wrongful means.” He also criticised the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for not approving the summary to convene the session, which forced the government to find an alternative way to hold it.
Gandapur termed this situation as part of a larger conspiracy against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, saying, “May 9, February 8, and now the attempt to not convene the session are all linked events.”
Regarding the tribal districts, he rejected the federal government’s attempts to impose taxes on the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA). He emphasised, “We will obstruct the collection of this tax.”
He expressed frustration over the inability to meet with PTI founder Imran Khan regarding the budget, stating, “If our meeting is not arranged, then the federal government will be responsible for whatever happens.”
The Chief Minister also expressed his anger towards those whom he accused of stealing the mandate, declaring curses upon them during his speech. He stressed, “May Allah Almighty drown whoever has stolen our mandate.”
Gandapur indicated that the PTI will soon outline their next course of action, urging the opposition to focus on their performance and solve the problems faced by the people. He remarked, “Stop spreading propaganda against us,” and affirmed that all decisions, including the budget, would be made following the instructions of the founding chairman.
As the Chief Minister, he mentioned he was presenting the second budget today and highlighted the importance of criticism, urging those in legislative positions to fulfil their responsibilities.
