ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur met with Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib in Islamabad, where they held a detailed discussion on bilateral relations, regional stability, and avenues for mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, CM Gandapur offered assistance in setting up a cancer hospital in Afghanistan and pledged full support in the agricultural sector. He reaffirmed KP’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to the welfare of the Afghan people.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the deep-rooted historical, linguistic, tribal, and religious ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan. They agreed that peace, mutual respect, and unity were essential to counter the harmful agendas of external forces and ensure a secure and prosperous future for the region.
Ambassador Shakib expressed gratitude to the KP government for its continued support and hospitality towards Afghan refugees and reiterated his resolve to deepen bilateral cooperation.
CM Gandapur also announced plans to send a special delegation to Afghanistan aimed at building trust and fostering people-to-people harmony. The meeting was also attended by CM’s Advisor on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, who was assigned the task of coordinating with Afghan authorities to enhance practical engagement between the two neighboring countries.
