KP CM claims province “Financially Self-Sufficient,” offers loans to federal govt

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Chief Minister CM  Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur declared on Tuesday that the province has achieved significant revenue growth, reaching a level of “financial self-sufficiency” that could enable it to lend money to the federal government.

In a public statement, Gandapur attributed this turnaround to effective provincial revenue-boosting measures, calling it a “major success.” He asserted KP now possesses such fiscal strength that it “can provide loans to the federal government” amid Pakistan’s current financial challenges.

Separately, the CM welcomed the federation’s decision to initiate negotiations with Afghanistan. However, he demanded the inclusion of KP’s tribal elders and jirga members in these talks, arguing their participation is essential for the province to “play an effective role in regional matters.”
