KP Announces Free Laptops for Students,

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has unveiled a free laptop scheme for students across the province, calling on the Punjab government to adopt KP’s welfare model for public service delivery.

Speaking at a public gathering, Gandapur highlighted KP’s achievements, including the Health Card Plus program, which provides health insurance to the entire population, and the recent introduction of life insurance benefits. He urged Punjab’s leadership to implement similar initiatives for its residents.

“We KP Announces Free Laptops for Students, ave ensured health coverage for all and are now offering life insurance. Punjab should also provide these facilities to its people,” he said. Gandapur added that KP would distribute laptops to students in proportion to its population, mirroring Punjab’s previous efforts.

Gandapur also emphasized KP’s economic progress, claiming a 55% increase in provincial revenue and a budget surplus of Rs176 billion despite financial challenges. He criticized Punjab for failing to meet its Rs300 billion surplus target, resulting in a Rs146 billion deficit.

In addition to educational and economic initiatives, Gandapur announced financial assistance of Rs200,000 each for the marriages of 4,000 deserving girls in KP. He challenged Punjab’s leadership to a debate, asserting that Punjab’s performance “is not even 1% of KP’s.”

“We are the only province to achieve IMF targets. Punjab should also aim to increase its revenue from 12% to 55%,” Gandapur concluded.
