PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly criticized the federal government for excluding the province from key decisions, calling it a “violation of the constitution.” Speaking at an All Parties Conference (APC), he demanded immediate payment of the province’s financial dues and fulfillment of federal commitments.
Gandapur raised concerns over recent federal talks with Afghanistan, stating that federal representatives Ishaq Dar and Mohsin Naqvi “cannot understand KP’s issues.” He firmly opposed any military operations or drone strikes in KP, warning that armed individuals would face strict action.
To strengthen security, the KP government approved recruiting 300 additional police officers in each district, with a focus on hiring locals in tribal areas for better regional knowledge. Gandapur emphasized that KP’s resources must remain under provincial control and that border security remains the federal government’s responsibility.
He vowed to collaborate with police against terrorism but warned of protests if the federation continues making decisions without consulting KP.
