PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that it seems that there are no signs of Imran Khan’s release but with they would release him through their constitutional struggle and hard work.
When the judiciary can make independent decisions, then the cases against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi will prove to be weightless. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa met Chairman PTI Imran Khan in Adiala Jail for about two hours, which was held in the conference room of the jail. In the meeting, consultations were held on the upcoming budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the party’s movement after Eid, and other political issues.
Talking to the media outside Adiala Jail after the meeting, Ali Amin Gandapur said that he wants the economic team to meet Imran Khan before preparing the provincial budget, and if permission for the meeting is not granted, the next course of action will be decided.
According to him, Imran Khan has instructed that development funds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should not be given directly to the assembly members, but funds should be released after the approval of the schemes, so that the resources are spent only on human development.
The Chief Minister, while severely criticising the current system, said that the leader of a political party has been imprisoned with injustice, and tactics to delay the judicial proceedings are still going on. He said that they are seeing that the judiciary is not making decisions itself, the prosecution is delaying, and we are being continuously pushed towards protest.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that the PTI will take its movement to the streets and will patiently seek the public’s decision. He said that PTI have adopted the path of tolerance; however, if we pushed toward oppression, they would not back down.
He said that the forces occupying the country are leading it towards destruction, the constitution and law are being mocked, and a conspiracy is being hatched to enslave the people. According to him, “We are neither born slaves nor will we accept slavery”.
Speaking on the detention of Bushra Bibi, he said that keeping a woman in prison for 14 months is a shameful act. There have been political differences, but women have never been treated like this in the past.
He claimed that Imran Khan is making a great sacrifice for this nation, and such moments are not often seen by nations. He said that if force has to be used to end this system, we will not back down.
In response to a question, he said that considerable success is being achieved in the fight for rights with the federation, a meeting regarding the NFC award is expected to be convened in August, while there is also contact with the establishment and willingness of talks in the interest of Pakistan.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that Imran Khan can also form more committees regarding the movement, and he would be a part of this movement. He said that he would fully use the constitutional powers as the Chief Minister.
