PESHAWAR: A high-level meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Chief Secretary CS Shahab Ali Shah reviewed the performance and challenges of outsourced hospitals in remote areas, aiming to improve healthcare services in underserved regions.
The Health Foundation meeting disclosed that 19 medical centers have been outsourced in two phases—eight in the first phase and 11 in the second. The facilities include Sri Mula Khan, Mammad Gat, Ghiljo, Dogar, Tui Khula, Darazandha, RHC Mastuj, RHC Garm Chashma, DHQ Wana, and several Category-D hospitals in Bazar Zakakhel, Pashat, Naogai, Mamond, Alizai, and Razmak, along with THQ Mir Ali, DHQ Dasu, Mishti Mela, and Sholam.
Officials presented progress reports and discussed cost comparisons for patient treatment, as well as operational hurdles faced by some hospitals.

Chief Secretary Shah directed authorities to swiftly resolve issues at outsourced hospitals to ensure quality healthcare. He emphasized regular performance reviews of service providers to identify areas for improvement.
“Public health is a top priority for the KP government,” Shah said, highlighting the public-private partnership model as a key strategy to enhance medical facilities.
