Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai has issued instructions to immediately provide complete details of vehicles used by the Education Department and its subordinate agencies.

The Education Minister has said that a list of all vehicles being used by the department should be submitted, including information on petrol, repairs and other expenses. He directed that the names, ranks and tenure of those officials who have been allotted official vehicles should also be clarified. In addition, the vehicles have been directed to be immediately withdrawn from all those officers or officials who are not allowed to use vehicles or who have been transferred to other institutions, but the vehicles are still in use. The Education Minister stressed that the Education Department is following a policy of austerity, and unnecessary or unauthorised use of government resources will never be allowed. He clarified that, along with the vehicles of the Education Department, those vehicles provided by development projects or international partners should also be reported. According to the Education Minister, the process of digitisation of vehicles has also been started so that the records can be improved and made transparent. On this occasion, instructions have also been issued to the Education Secretary that the vehicles which are being used by other departments or unrelated officers should also be withdrawn immediately. In case of misrepresentation in providing details by any institution or officer, disciplinary action has also been indicated.
