PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Friday inaugurated a higher education inter-colleges sports gala for 2024-25. Over 2000 students from 320 different colleges are expected to take part in the gala sports activities.
The inaugural ceremony of the sports gala was held in Peshawar on Friday where the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was the chief guest who officially launched the sports events on the occasion.
Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Mena Khan Afridi, and Secretary of Higher Education, KP, Kamran Afridi were also present on the occasion.
While speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur stressed the promotion of sports activities and fostering unity among the youth.
Provincial minister, of higher education, Mena Khan said on the occasion engagement in sports activities was essential for fitness and healthy lifestyle and he noted that this sports gala would provide students with an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents.
This year’s sports gala features a total of 23 different types of physical activities—11 for women and 12 for men. The initiative is considered a significant step towards promoting the culture of KP through sports.
