KP government releases 4.32 billion funds to lawmakers in first half of fiscal year

KP assembly passes resolution urging action against cellular networks

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Thursday released Rs4.32 billion fund to the members of the provincial assembly in the first half of the financial year 2024-25.

According to sources, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance and Development Department released the first instalment of Rs4.32 billion fund to the province legislators under the district development initiative.

The government sources added that the Rs200 million fund would be released to every constituency of the province in the fiscal year.

He further said the provincial assembly member would utilize 75 per cent of the fund in the district development initiative, while the national assembly lawmaker would make a 25 per cent contribution to it.

Additionally, the funds would be deposited into the respective deputy commissioners’ accounts for the district development initiative program and, the members would provide the details of their desired projects in the respective constituencies, and this initiative would benefit the ruling party legislators.
