The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s MI-17 helicopter crashed in Mohmand district during flood operations on Friday. The government authorities have confirmed the deaths of three helicopter crew members as a result of a helicopter crash.
According to a statement issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, contact has been lost with the provincial government helicopter Mi-17 carrying relief supplies to the Salarzai area of Bajaur.
He said that due to bad weather, contact could not be established with the helicopter after it entered the airspace of Mohmand district.
According to local sources, reports have been received of a helicopter crash in the mountainous area of the Sukai area of Pandial tehsil of Mohmand district.
Government officials have also confirmed the helicopter crash and said that three people have been martyred in the accident.
According to the administration, rescue teams have been immediately dispatched to the scene as soon as the information about the incident was received.
