KP Governor hosts Iftar dinner for envoys from Muslim world

PESHAWAR: Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, hosted an Iftar dinner last night in honour of the ambassadors and diplomats of Muslim countries stationed in Pakistan.

Acting President of Pakistan and Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, attended the dinner on a special invitation.

Ambassadors from Turkiye, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Morocco, Bahrain, and honorary ambassadors from Tunisia, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, and Somalia participated in the event.

Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, and Libya also joined the dinner.

The event was attended by notable figures including Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Pervez Khattak, National Assembly members Asma Arbab Alamgir and Sardar Fatehullah Khan Miankhel, and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the Iftar dinner, discussions focused on the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah and the rising trend of Islamophobia.

The ambassadors praised Pakistan’s efforts in fostering unity among Muslim nations globally. They also commended Governor Faisal Karim Kundi for his contributions to the development and peace of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The month of Ramadan was highlighted as a time for unity, brotherhood, and peace.

The event emphasised the need for Muslim countries to unite and develop a comprehensive strategy to protect their interests and combat the growing Islamophobia around the world.

Islam, as stated at the dinner, is a religion of peace and respect for all humanity.
