PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met US Charge d’Affaires to Pakistan Natalie Baker in KP Governor House and expressed her deep regret over the loss of precious lives in the terrorist attack in Khuzdar.
In her remarks, the US Ambassador said that the United States always condemns terrorism and terrorist activities in all forms and manifestations, while the recent attack on the school bus in Khuzdar was one of the worst attacks on students. She expressed sympathy with affected families and prayed for the departed soul. She also discussed matters related to trade and foreign investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, besides providing scholarships for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in technical and vocational education. She also stressed the need for providing opportunities for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in sports in the US and around the world, including the need for exchange of trade delegations between the US and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We have excellent relations with Pakistan, the United States is committed to promoting bilateral cooperation”, the American ambassador said.
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed the US Ambassador about investment opportunities in the precious mineral sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the world’s best marble, granite and other mineral resources are available. KP Governor underlined the need that the province to attract international investment in natural resources, including minerals and tourism. He said that the United States is a friendly development partner of Pakistan and should play a friendly role in providing scholarships in technical and vocational education to the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially the merged districts. “I am grateful to President Trump for his important role in stopping Indian aggression and in the ceasefire for peace in the region”, Faisal Karim Kundi remarked.
