PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed concerns that the oath-taking process for members on reserved seats may face further delays in the upcoming provincial assembly session.
Speaking to media, Governor Kundi stated that if the oath ceremony does not take place, legal options remain open. “The matter could return to court if unresolved,” he warned. He also hinted that the session might be adjourned due to a lack of quorum, given the current tense atmosphere in the assembly.
Regarding the Senate elections scheduled for Monday or Tuesday, Kundi confirmed they would proceed as planned. However, he noted that if reserved seat members remain unsworn, they may seek judicial intervention, potentially leading to court-mandated oath-taking by the Speaker.
The governor also commented on internal rifts within PTI, revealing that some Senate candidates are upset over alleged favoritism toward a Lahore-based candidate. He identified Mirza Afridi as a key figure in the dispute, causing divisions within the party.
