A statement issued by the KP government on Sunday said that under the vision of Imran Khan and the leadership of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department has announced the celebration of the “Trich Mir Jubilee Celebration 2024-25” in honour of the 75th anniversary of the first successful expedition to the Trich Mir peak. This event will include a festival in Chitral, guidance for international trekkers at the base camp, and the launch of the first locally-led expedition.
The government has established adventure tourism training centres in Chitral, Swat, and Mansehra with a budget of Rs 200 million, where training in mountaineering, aerial sports, winter sports, and rescue operations will be provided. An additional Rs 298.6 million is being allocated for safety systems and local capacity building.
Modern tourism facilities such as treehouses, zip lines, biking trails, and others are also being introduced in Galiyat, Nathia Gali, Dir, and Donga Gali.
According to Tourism Secretary Bakhtiar Khan, these initiatives will not only create 5,000 employment opportunities but will also help position Pakistan as a major adventure tourism hub in Asia.
