KP govt imposes ban on postings and transfers in education department: Minister

Faisal Khan Tarakai

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed a ban on all types of postings and transfers within the education department. According to the provincial Minister for Education, Faisal Khan Tarakai, this ban is in place to ensure the smooth resumption of educational activities, as teacher transfers are completely halted during this period.

Teachers in the education sector are advised not to visit the Education Minister’s Office or the Secretariat to request transfers. Those who ignore this directive and attempt to seek transfers will face disciplinary action, as emphasised by Minister Tarakai.

Additionally, all district offices have been instructed not to make any transfer decisions. This complete ban on transfers is effective immediately. Transfers will only be allowed once a year during the holidays and will be managed through an e-transfer policy.

In Peshawar, teachers are encouraged to focus solely on the education of students during this time.
