Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review measures aimed at simplifying business processes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This initiative is part of the recently approved “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ease of Doing Business Bill 2025.”
The meeting included the Secretaries of the Finance Department, the Industries Department, the Board of Investment and Trade, as well as officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board. Participants were briefed on proposed law reforms that would introduce a “one-window operation” for businesspeople and establish an online portal for various administrative tasks.
This portal will facilitate the registration of all businesses—both small and large—and allow them to manage licenses, permits, and payments through an online system and e-payments.
These initiatives are designed to enhance the business environment, attract greater investment, and create new employment opportunities for the youth. The Chief Secretary highlighted the urgency of accelerating these efforts, stating that improving the ease of doing business and digitising processes are essential for the province’s economic growth.
