KHYBER: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s ‘Merged Areas Connect’ program was officially inaugurated in Jamrud, Khyber district, by Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science & Technology and IT.
The ceremony was attended by local political candidates, tribal elders, youth, and community members. This initiative, already operational in Bajaur and Orakzai districts, aims to empower youth through digital connectivity and technological advancement.
Dr. Ayaz emphasized that the program marks just the beginning of KP’s digital transformation, stating: “In our era, every young person in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserves to stand empowered and dignified in the technological field.” The project is expected to bridge the digital divide in the merged tribal districts.
Local leaders welcomed the initiative as a crucial step toward development in the former FATA region, with hopes it will create new opportunities for the area’s tech-savvy youth.
