PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has prepared an 84-point provincial action plan to counter terrorism and restore peace in the province.
As per details, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a high-level meeting on law and order and attended by the Chief Secretary, IGP, Additional Chief Secretaries, administrative secretaries, and RPOs also participated.
The meeting proposed 84 measures across 18 topics in a comprehensive action plan. Provincial departments and federal institutions have been assigned tasks with clear timelines for implementation. The goal is to restore public confidence in the state system.
The action plan focuses on strengthening state institutions to punish terrorists, continuing action against miscreants, and ensuring strict law enforcement to combat terrorism.
Public opinion on security and development will be incorporated into the plan. Terrorist activities and their facilitators will be closely monitored. Disciplinary action will be taken against government employees aiding terrorists, and monthly security assessments will be conducted at the district level.
The civil administration will take the lead in combating terrorism, with an emphasis on fast-tracking the capacity-building of the police and counter-terrorism departments.
A plan for police recruitment, training, and the procurement of weapons and equipment will be prepared by the end of this month. Priority infrastructure projects for the police will be included in the annual development program, focusing on southern and merged districts.
